I graduated from the Corcoran College of Art and Design with a degree in Fine Arts. I taught painting and drawing at the Corcoran for 11 years and while I was teaching I started my professional decorative arts studio. With the ever shifting of interior styles and exploration of new techniques, I have spent the past 25 years providing creative solutions that are executed with the utmost attention to detail and craftsmanship.
My work is based in hand painting, murals and fine wall finishes. I am always exploring and creating new techniques to incorporate into projects. Currently the studio is working with the ancient technique of verre eglomise and water gilding on glass. An exciting new addition to my portfolio of finishes that will offer designers and clients incredible applications.
The studio is located in the small town of Purcellville, Virginia. While most of my clients are concentrated in the Washington DC area, I travel frequently to paint for clients all over the country. My projects encompass both residential and commercial spaces and vary in size from small decorative objects to a shopping mall food court.
I work with accomplished designers, architects, conservators, private clients and collaborate with other decorative arts studios to create incredible works and spaces for their clients. From grand ballrooms to restoring a family heirloom, Roberta Marovelli Studio provides the expertise and talent for your next project.
